Why This Role Matters
The Workday Analyst, Talent plays a key role in powering Loblaw’s HR Technology strategy. At Loblaw, we take our HR automation and systems seriously. As part of the People, Technology & Analytics team, this role is a valued member of our Workday team, supporting all HR technology in partnership with our Human Resources department.
As a member of our broad Workday team, this position serves as the technical configuration expert for our talent suite of Workday modules and our survey system, Medallia. This includes the configuration, maintenance and enhancement of performance management, goals, calibration, succession, feedback, check-ins, as well as experience with security and reporting. Experience with Workday Peakon or Medallia survey tool as an asset.
While this role is not a data analyst, it is an integral contributor to the successful launch of Loblaw’s listening, career and talent development programs and provides the technology foundation that supports over 250,000 colleagues across multiple banners. This role partners closely with the HR’s Employee Listening team, People Analytics, Workday and Medallia teams to enable a streamlined and exceptional end-user experience across the enterprise.
What You’ll Do
- HRIS technical administrator for HR talent and survey systems, who performs system changes and monitors in-flight processes, while applying technology best practices.
- Apply tactical Workday HCM expertise by loading EIBs, creating notifications, assessing user-based security access, creating and running Workday talent reports, calculated fields, and maintaining data hierarchy integrity, including data segmentation by supervisory organizations, job profiles, and custom orgs, etc.
- Accountable for configuration of Workday modules Talent Management, Calibration, Succession modules, with cross-functional knowledge of Learning, Recruiting, Paradox and HCM modules is an asset
- Build, launch, and maintain surveys in Medallia, including post-survey data dashboard creation & maintenance (or any other survey platform, including Peakon), for stakeholders and end-users.
- Create and manage test cases and testing plans with detailed results documentation and defect resolution progress, while supporting business testers as the Workday expert.
- Ability to partner and build relationships with internal stakeholders such as HR, IT, Finance, and business users to document complex business requirements into logical, system-based configuration specifications for external partners and vendors.
- Provide exceptional customer service, both internally and externally, to create a seamless end-user HR technology experience.
- Investigate configuration on Workday User Community to stay up to date on current solutions, required system upgrades and training activities.
What You Bring
- Post-secondary education in Business, HR, Data Analytics, or Information Systems focus, or equivalent work experience. (CHRP or related designation is an asset)
- 1-3 years of progressive experience in HR with a technology or systems administration focus (Workday strongly preferred).
- Workday HR system experience (Workday certifications a strong asset) with solid knowledge of core HCM, Talent Management, and Recruiting, with Learning Management and Paradox as asset.
- Experience supporting or administering Medallia survey system or similar survey systems for a large enterprise organization is an asset.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including complex formulas, lookups, pivot tables, and data validation techniques, and experience with basic programming languages such as Python or VBA to support data transformation and automation.
- Familiarity with data privacy and security principles related to employee information and confidentiality.
- Strong communication skills, verbal and written, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong collaboration skills, able to flex and work closely within an internal team; HR, IT, Payroll, and Finance as needed across the business.
- Accountability, integrity, and pride in high-quality and accurate work.
- High-level of curiosity, initiative, critical thinking, and a creative problem solver with strong troubleshooting and investigation skills that resolve issues
