Transportation Load Planner
The Regional Transportation Planning Centre is accountable for the daily planning of all vendor purchase orders and all store delivery orders as efficient and cost-effective trips. The Load Planner utilizes the Transportation Management System (TMS) to plan trips that meet the needs of the business from a customer perspective while meeting all adherence and cost requirements.
What You'll Do
- Review all unscheduled orders in the Transportation Management System prior to the automated system routing session.
- Maintain adherence to SOP’s
- Manually adjust the planned load as required and provide feedback for changes to the Regional Planning Center lead.
- Review each load planned by the Transportation Management System to ensure adherence aimed at a cost-effective load.
- Other duties as required.
What You'll Bring
- 1 – 3 years’ experience in a supply chain or retail organization.
- Post secondary education in Industrial Engineering, computer science, business technology management, or supply chain management preferred.
- Professional attitude, robust geography skills, robust system skills, robust structuring and time management skills.
- Ability to prioritize, works well under pressure and can handle tight time constraints.
- Ability to consult with and/or co-ordinate with contacts inside and outside an organization.
- Has a robust knowledge of local and North American geography, a knowledge of transport modes and is a creative issue-solver who can work autonomously.
- Scheduling will require shift work (days, afternoons, evenings) as well as weekend work.
- PLog or CITT nice to have.
