Job Summary:
The Compliance Supervisor is responsible for driving productivity improvements through the strategic development and facilitation of the company's Compliance programs and practices. This critical role ensures adherence to all internal and external regulations related to Workplace Health and Safety, Environmental Affairs, HACCP, Sanitation, Pest Control, and Facility Security within our bagging operations. The incumbent will play a pivotal role in maintaining our Canada Gap and HACCP certifications, fostering a culture of safety, and ensuring operational excellence.

What you will do:

  • Regulatory Compliance & Audits:
    • Ensure and monitor collaboration and compliance with all legal and third-party agencies, including the Ministry of Labour (MOL), Ministry of the Environment (MOE), Loblaw Companies Limited (LCL) corporate standards, and the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA).
    • Actively participate in all Ministry, corporate, and customer audits, providing necessary documentation and support.
    • Managing HACCP for Citrus Bagging Operation
  • Health & Safety Leadership:
    • Lead and participate in Health and Safety initiatives, including conducting regular workplace inspections, performing employee safety observations, and promptly correcting substandard acts or conditions.
    • Recognize and commend positive employee health and safety performance.
    • Attend and facilitate health and safety training sessions as required.
    • Monitor and ensure an adequate number of First Aid trained individuals are available on each shift.
    • Verify that all training requirements for supervisors, managers, and workers are met and maintained.
    • Ensure the availability of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and maintain accurate inventory levels.
    • Oversee the stocking and monitoring of First Aid Kits and Spill Kits across the facility.
    • Provide support to the broader Compliance Team by assisting with other tasks as needed.

What you will need:

  • Experience & Education:
    • 3-5 years of related work experience in compliance, health & safety, or quality assurance, preferably within a food processing or bagging operation.
    • An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
    • Post-secondary training and/or certification in a relevant field (e.g., Health & Safety, Food Science, Environmental Management) is considered a significant asset.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (including Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Core Competencies:
    • Demonstrated ability to schedule tasks effectively and manage assigned projects independently with minimal supervision.
    • Strong analytical skills with the ability to perform in-depth problem-solving and implement effective solutions.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to apply effective communication and motivational techniques in supervising and counseling subordinates.
    • : Flexibility to work all shifts as needed, including evenings, nights, and weekends, to support operational requirements.
    • Possesses a self-driven, proactive, and strong work ethic.
    • Ability to work collaboratively and thrive within a diverse work group and a unionized environment.
    • Demonstrates a strong commitment to internal and external customer satisfaction.
    • Exhibits enthusiasm and a positive attitude in all aspects of work.
