Fall 2026 Work Term

Term Length: 4 months

Term Start: September 8, 2026

Term End: December 18, 2026

The pay range for the co-op student role will reflect factors such as the candidate's experience, academic level, and the specific skillset required for the role.

Loblaw has adopted the following hybrid working model (a combination of working between the office and remotely). Colleagues can work remotely up to 1 day a week, while spending the other 4 days in the office (to be determined by each business unit).

We are looking for a Co-op/Intern with a strong interest in strategy. The ideal candidate excels in structured problem solving, thrives in ambiguous environments, and is energized by tackling complex, high-impact business challenges within a large organization. They combine exceptional analytical rigour, clear and compelling communication, and strong interpersonal skills. They demonstrate intellectual curiosity, have a track record of achievement, and a passion for solving strategic problems.  

 

In this role, you will gain hands-on experience in the development and execution of enterprise strategy. You will work alongside a high-performing team to address critical and challenging business problems and deliver meaningful impact for Canadians coast-to-coast.

 

What you’ll do:

  • Support the development of data-driven, actionable strategic recommendations on high priority business issues.

  • Conduct rigorous quantitative and qualitative analysis, including market research, competitive benchmarking, and some financial modeling.

  • Synthesize complex data into clear, concise insights and leadership-ready deliverables.

  • Communicate recommendations confidently to team leaders.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally to gather inputs, align on priorities, and drive project outcomes.

  • Build meaningful relationships with stakeholders across the enterprise.

  • Support the Strategy & Business Development team with work planning, stakeholder management, and tracking key milestones.

  • Contribute to a team culture grounded in collaboration, curiosity, and continuous learning.

 

What you’ll bring:

We are looking for candidates who demonstrate a strong foundation in problem-solving and an interest in strategy. The ideal candidate will be self-directed and organized, and show up authentically.

  • Minimum of 2 years completed of an undergraduate program.

  • Prior internship, coursework, and/or case competition experience in consulting, strategy, finance, or a related analytical field.

  • Willingness to learn and deliver high-quality outputs in a dynamic, fast-paced team environment.

  • Ability to break down complex problems and develop structured, logical approaches to solving them.

  • Strong analytical skills, including experience working with data and Excel (working knowledge of creating and interpreting financial models is an asset).

  • Ability to manage time effectively to deliver across a variety of priorities. 

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build effective, trust-based relationships with diverse stakeholders.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • High degree of ownership, initiative, and comfort with ambiguity.

  • Demonstrated interest in Retail, and/or Consumer Goods space.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (experience developing leadership-ready presentations is an asset).
