Store Accounting Resource Centre - Senior Financial Analyst (SDM)
Job Description:
Shoppers Drug Mart is currently seeking highly motivated candidates to fill the position of Senior Finance Analyst for our Store Accounting Resource Center. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Finance – Enterprise Business Services. This position is required to support 1,400 SDM stores on all accounting related inquiries and assisting in payroll related tasks. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to be involved in various finance initiatives and projects with specific focus on business process development, documentation, . In this role, you will work closely with management, various areas of the business to analyze and explain system and business process issues as well as resolving store related inquiries as they arise. You will be providing support and documentation from development phase of projects through to testing and implementation. You will join a dedicated and motivated team with exposure to financial systems and multiple business units within the Loblaw enterprise including pharmaceutical.
Key Responsibilities /Job Duties:
- Provide excellent level of customer service to our stores and all levels of business
- Provide guidance and training in accounting and payroll related questions and tasks from Store Administrators, Associates Owners, Front Store Managers, Bookkeepers, and other store staff
- Analyze queries sent to the Customer Service and provide resolution for the issue either through financial knowledge, process support, collaboration with other Central Office or Regional staff or through IT
- Collaborate on issues as needed with government bodies, benefits providers, Stats Canada, requiring support
- Leverage technology and tools to monitor and assess the type of inquiries and identify drivers affecting store performance and processes.
- Support projects, execute testing and create business process documentation for training
- Coordinate and facilitate meetings with stores, business and IT as required
- Work with the project teams in communicating and addressing system issues and roadblocks
- Develop strong cross-functional partnerships and relationships to support key strategic initiatives as needed
- Assist with ad-hoc and cross-functional projects and initiatives as required
Qualifications and Competencies
A Post-Secondary education in Finance or related field is required; experience working in a fast-paced environment, particularly corporate and/or retail will be considered an asset. The preferred candidate will also have:
- Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to bring together and manage interactions with employees from our stores and across the organization
- Advanced computer/technical skills, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Knowledge of MMS, ePOS, MicroStrategy, MMS, Power BI, Workday, WFM, Ceridian, Payroll an asset
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to manage demanding situations with tact
- Excellent analytical, oral, and written communications skills
- Ability to plan, organize and prioritize numerous tasks with conflicting deadlines
- Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment
- Results Oriented – able to consistently deliver on time and accurate results
- Able to work in a non-structured environment
- Store experience an asset
