Sr. Specialist, Retail Optimization, Brampton, ON
As Senior Specialist, Retail Optimization at Loblaw Technology, you are part of a highly strategic team driving human-centered process and technology transformation for Loblaw’s 180,000+ frontline colleagues and employees across all banners.
You will conduct the end-to-end planning, discovery and execution of strategic initiatives, working with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless adoption by stores. On any given day you may be analyzing self-checkout data to see if the latest improvement helped reduce interventions, digging into streamlining the applications on store handhelds, presenting at an executive steerco about the latest enhancements to inventory reports, researching trends in retail technology, shadowing store colleagues to how they conduct certain tasks, or leading a focus group about how we can increase on-shelf availability.
What You’ll Do
End-to-end planning and implementation of multiple initiatives, collaborating with business and technology teams to drive retail optimization at scale
Conduct in-store assessments to gather insights and identify opportunities to increase efficiency
Document key business processes through use cases, journey mapping, and high-level business process documentation
Support various aspects of pilots and launches including developing strategies for communication and training, optimizing user engagement and adoption
Collaborate with our in-house design team on new ideas and then test prototypes in our stores
Develop and deliver materials such as training guides, job aids, video content, and communication assets in various formats.
Track and report on metrics and business outcomes such as colleague productivity and customer satisfaction
Build and manage key business relationships, ensuring alignment with organizational goals
What You’ll Bring
Retail operations experience – you’re familiar with the inner workings of the grocery business and are passionate about making life easier for our colleagues and customers. Experience with retail technology is a perk.
A collaborative mindset with the ability to work across cross-functional teams, from frontline employees to senior leadership
Strong analytical and decision-making skills, with a passion for executing results at pace in a structured and collaborative manner.
The curiosity to find impactful opportunities, and the resourcefulness to solve them in creative ways. You think big picture and are always looking to connect the dots.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, ensuring clarity and alignment across all levels of the organization.
Proficiency in process mapping and data analysis
Strong organizational skills – you hold yourself accountable and excel at managing multiple priorities
Familiarity with change management best practices and involvement in piloting and rolling out retail solutions in the past
