Sr. Specialist, Pension and Actuarial - Toronto

What You'll Do:

Day to day administration support of our pension and savings programs:

  • Review and respond to pension issues and member queries

  • Special case calculations and executive administration

  • Review and audit of work performed by vendors including benefit calculations and annual statements

  • Member presentations and member communication

Pension funding and actuarial support:

  • Review of actuarial funding valuation reports and updates on funded positions

  • Plan funding analysis and strategy

  • Costings including DB and DC projections

Governance and regulatory Compliance:

  • Review of plan amendments and plan documents

  • Ensure plans comply with regulation including plan filings and any changes to regulations and actuarial requirements

  • Support of US plans, as required

Other responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation of quarterly Board meeting materials

  • Special project work

  • Liaise with our business partners, relevant stakeholders, service providers and vendors.

What You Bring:

  • 5 – 10 years of actuarial pension and administration experience

  • Excellent project management and organizational skills

  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written

  • Strong actuarial knowledge and understanding of pension legislation

  • Work effectively in a team environment, and contributes to a positive, effective team atmosphere.

  • Possess a strong work ethic, is responsive and reliable
