Why this role is important?

We are seeking a highly accomplished Senior Human Resources Business Partner (Sr. HRBP) to join our team. In this pivotal role, you will report to the Senior HR Director, National Operations, Pharmacy, Healthcare Businesses & Health and will strategically partner with the Healthcare Businesses and Health executives to drive critical HR initiatives and elevate our HR processes. You will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive HR people plan that directly contributes to our client groups’ ability to deliver on their strategic priorities.

This hybrid role requires 2-3 days/week at our Shoppers Drug Mart Consumers Road office and 1-2 days/week travel to MediSystem locations (primarily Toronto/Mississauga) for essential on-site HR support and relationship building. Travel days are flexible based on business needs. There will be occasional travel required to other provinces such as Manitoba, Alberta and BC.

What You'll Do:

  • Practice effective relationship management to elevate working relationships with internal client groups, including executives, people leaders and colleagues

  • Demonstrate comprehensive understanding of the core HR competencies including, but not limited to, compensation, benefits, employment law, organizational development, talent development and training, mentoring/coaching/facilitation, workforce planning and an overall understanding of HR policies and programs and other terms and conditions of employment, along with an understanding of HR best practices

  • Learn the business and take an active interest in continually enhancing your business acumen

  • Proactively identify strategic issues and provide advice and expertise to help develop creative solutions

  • Manage multiple priorities simultaneously with agility and planning and time management skills

  • Adapt to rapidly changing demands

  • Develop and implement HR-related projects and participate in special projects as needed

  • Serve as a workforce champion and promotes a positive work environment and colleague experience

  • Communicate with and influence a broad and diverse range of stakeholders through building effective relationships with verbal and written communication

Does this Sound like You?

  • A minimum of 4-7 years of progressive Human Resources experience, preferably in healthcare or retail

  • Proven influencer and collaborator, with the ability to provide guidance and support in all areas of Human Resource Management to business clients

  • You thrive in environments that challenge you to solve problems creatively and build support with business leaders to execute your ideas and plans.

  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources is required, and a Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation or working towards the designation is highly desirable.

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, complemented by a strong attention to detail.

  • Outstanding interpersonal skills, including active listening and effective counseling abilities, demonstrated across all levels of an organization.

  • Proven ability to build consensus and alignment while maintaining integrity and confidentiality.

  • A proven ability to solve complex problems using creativity, independent judgment, and analytical thinking.

  • Thorough understanding of employment law, particularly within the province of Ontario.

  • A confident, professional, and energetic individual with a positive attitude and a strong work ethic.
