Loblaw Brands is seeking a passionate and driven Sustainability Specialist to join our Strategic Initiatives and Sustainability team. In this role, you'll play a vital part in driving our sustainability programs across our control brand portfolio in areas that matter most to our customers, colleagues, and communities.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead Sustainability Programs: Create and administer surveys, collect data, and manage supplier information related to sustainability commitments including palm oil and sustainable seafood
  • Support Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Reporting: Review and maintain data and claims to ensure accurate and auditable ESG-related reporting for our control brands
  • Review Marketing Programs: Work with certifiers to approve marketing copy as related to certifier logo use
  • Drive Continuous Process Improvement: Identify and implement improvements for data collection and analysis processes
  • Maintain Guidance Documents: Update control brand sustainability guidance documents as needed
  • Contribute to Special Projects: Support other special projects as required

What you bring:

  • A passion for sustainability and the food industry
  • University degree in a related field
  • Experience with sustainable ingredient sourcing such as seafood, palm oil, coffee, is an asset
  • Knowledge of sustainability principles and practices, including claims, disclosures, and certifications
  • Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to handle complex situations with tact and creativity
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
