Senior Supervisor

What you will do:

  • Monitors production of Team Members by function, compare to daily facility production demands and assigns members accordingly.
  • Monitors quality of Team Members by function, takes corrective action as necessary.
  • Reviews individual attendance records of Team Members daily/weekly.  Plans and implements corrective action(s) (Training, Counseling, Discipline) for substandard productivity.
  • Actively participates in Health and Safety initiatives including but not limited to the completion of workplace inspections, performing employee safety observations, providing employee safety information sessions and training, conducting incident investigations, correcting substandard acts and or conditions, commending employee health and safety performance and attending in health and safety training.
  • Coordinate and participate in inventory and storage function in the warehouse; conduct inventories; requisition supplies as necessary and determine proper location of supplies to all maximum space utilization.
  • Estimates amount of floor space available to prevent overcrowding of warehouse floor.
  • Review workload, schedules, personnel assignments, status of on-going work and available personnel for work assignment in order to plan activities.
  • Responsible for Team members; running and monitoring AH (Activity History), Time Keeping recording and Downtime to determine selector productivity and training needs.
  • Completes Termination forms on terminating employee.  Submits corrective action plan, where appropriate to eliminate reoccurring situations.
  • Maintain continuity among work teams by documenting and communications actions, irregularities and continuing needs.

What you will do:

  • 3 – 5 years of related work experience; or equivalent combination of educations and experience.  Post-secondary training and/pr certification an asset.
  • Basic working knowledge of computers.
  • Good communications skills and the ability to work well with people.
  • Ability to operate warehouse equipment (Hi-lift, RC, Pallet Jack, etc.).
  • Considerable knowledge of Safety and Sanitation practices.
  • Thorough knowledge of Shipping and Receiving process.
  • Inventory Control and Scheduling.
  • Leadership Skills (Coaching, Discipline).
  • Working knowledge of MS Word, Access, Excel.
  • Considerable knowledge of the WM system.
  • Excellent Customer Service.
  • Plan, organize, coordinate, and supervise the operation of the warehouse.
  • Read, interpret, and follow rules, regulat0ions and procedures.
  • Analyze situations accurately and adopt an effective course of action.
  • Maintain accurate and current records of warehouse transactions.
  • Maintain confidentiality of privileged information obtained in the course of work.
