Senior Specialist, Technology Operations ( Integration & BI), Brampton, ON
In this role, you will join the Technology Operations team responsible for operating and evolving the critical technology platforms that power Loblaw’s stores, pharmacy, supply chain, and digital retail experiences. As part of Operations 2.0 team, you will help drive the modernization of our Enterprise Integration and BI ecosystems by advancing observability, automation, and platform reliability at scale. Working across complex enterprise systems, you will play a key role in improving operational resilience, reducing manual toil, and enabling faster innovation across the organization.
What You’ll Do:
1. Operate and support Enterprise Integration and BI platforms that power critical data flows across Loblaw’s stores, pharmacy, and supply chain systems, ensuring high availability, performance, and reliability.
2. Implement Operations 2.0 initiatives by enhancing monitoring, observability, and automation to reduce operational toil, prevent production incidents, and improve platform stability.
3. Investigate and resolve complex system issues by leading incident management and root cause analysis (RCA), delivering long-term solutions that strengthen the reliability of enterprise integration and data platforms.
4. Collaborate with engineering, infrastructure, vendors, and business teams to troubleshoot platform issues, optimize system performance, and ensure operational readiness for new integrations and system changes.
5. Support major platform modernization and migration initiatives (platforms, data pipelines, and infrastructure transitions), ensuring smooth implementation, strong observability, and post-migration stability.
What you Bring:
• Experience supporting enterprise applications, integration platforms, or data systems in large-scale production environments.
• Hands-on experience with Enterprise Integration technologies such as IBM ACE, MQ, MQFT, Cleo, or similar messaging and integration platforms.
• Experience operating or supporting data platforms and BI ecosystems, including tools such as BigQuery, MicroStrategy, Power BI, or similar analytics platforms.
• Strong experience with incident management, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis (RCA) in production environments.
• Exposure to site reliability engineering (SRE) practices, including incident response, reliability engineering, and operational automation.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across engineering teams, vendors, and business stakeholders.
Nice to have:
• Experience with workflow orchestration platforms such as Airflow, or similar job scheduling tools.
• Familiarity with observability and monitoring tools (e.g., Grafana, Prometheus).
• Experience with cloud platforms, particularly Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including services such as BigQuery or Pub/Sub.
• Experience with automation and scripting (e.g., Python, Shell scripting, CI/CD pipelines).
• Familiarity with enterprise data pipeline or ETL tools (e.g., BODS, Informatica, or similar platforms).
