Senior Manager, Data & Privacy
The Impact You'll Make:
The Data Trust Office is an enablement-first function. We believe in embedding data and privacy into our products and services to build customer loyalty and trust, which ensures compliance by default. . In this role you will be supporting the delivery of data and privacy advisory services, including Loblaw’s health businesses. This role reports to the Senior Director, Data & Privacy.
What You’ll Do:
- Implement the enterprise data and privacy program components (e.g., content development, privacy training, data privacy assessments, contract reviews, and reporting) in a way that is fit for purpose for Loblaw.
- Perform risk assessments and provide recommendations regarding data and privacy controls.
- Drive innovation and strategy to build data governance and privacy into the agile technology development lifecycle and culture at Loblaw.
- Optimize and update data and privacy processes and tools based on changes to privacy laws, industry standards, and business objectives.
- Manage and deliver data management and privacy training and awareness across Loblaw businesses.
- Manage third party data and privacy risk management activities, including reviewing and advising on agreements and statements of work, and conducting vendor risk assessments.
What you Bring:
- A self-starter who is proactive, takes initiative and consistently drives projects forward with minimal supervision.
- Strong ability to grasp complex and ambiguous problems and distill them into clear, understandable terms and requirements.
- Collaborative team player who can influence stakeholders and negotiate effectively to achieve win-win solutions.
- Ability to exercise sound judgement to independently manage challenges and knows when to appropriate escalate issues for resolution.
- Demonstrated experience working in privacy in a health, corporate retail or other direct-to-consumer industry
- Proven experience embedding privacy requirements through technical delivery programs, including through policy development, training and education and advocacy
- Experience working in data governance or information security is an asset but not mandatory.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational and presentation skills, including the ability to present succinctly and effectively to varying levels of management
- Innovative, creative and action-oriented mindset, embracing data and privacy as a business enabler
- Positive attitude and a willingness and ability to collaborate across multi-stakeholder groups
- Post-secondary education.
- Strong experience in applying privacy laws and principles.
- International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) certification (i.e. CIPP/C or equivalent certification) preferred.
