You will be an active hands-on contributor to the development of our data platform that powers our Reporting, Data Analytics and AI capabilities, reporting to the Director, Data Platform Engineering, the incumbent will be responsible for providing guidance and technical leadership to a team of software and data platform engineers. We are looking for thoughtful, nice, and curious team members to help bring our Data & Analytics game to the next level. What You'll Do:
- Champion in writing reliable, reusable, and scalable code with thorough understanding of OOD principles
- Lead architecture, design and development of end-to-end Cloud based solutions supporting data integration, data ingestion, data observability, and data fulfilment, as well as real-time streaming and batch data pipelines.
- Managing software engineers, providing support, and coaching to direct reports through agile software development life cycle.
- Advocate for the highest standards of technical and operational excellence. Challenge assumptions to improve existing designs. Ensure we're building the best scalable product.
- Partner with product owners and other technical leaders on roadmap planning, sizing, and estimates.
- Enforce and maintain best practices and documentation of data framework, including roadmap planning, cross-team coordination, code reviews, presentations.
- Attract and nurture talent, mentor and develop a world-class engineering team.
What You'll Bring:
- University degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or related field.
- People management experience and ability to build and develop a highly functional team
- Tenured experience in software engineering, OO programming or data analysis.
- Strong experience with SQL and query optimization for relational or NoSQL databases
- Capability to take initiative, multi-task, and work in a fast-paced environment, collaborating closely with all levels cross the enterprise
- A great teammate and self-starter, strong detail orientation is critical in this role
- Experience working with Cloud data platforms such as Google Cloud Platform (Dataflow, Big Query, Airflow) preferred.
- Experience with Data Lake and Big Data Technologies (Hadoop, Hive) preferred.
