Why this role is important?
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Control Brands & Gift Cards, Merchandising Finance the Senior Financial Analyst, FP&A is responsible for the financial reporting, forecasting, planning and analyzing of Gift Card revenues and expenses. This position is a financial partner of the Category Management team, assisting, establishing and monitoring appropriate controls and processes.
What you'll do:
Gift Card Financial Support & Reporting
- Full operational support of the Gift Card category, including: inventory reporting, store commission and service fee settlements, proprietary gift card liability reporting, gift card breakage & vendor income reporting.
- Process all period end entries and analyze results to ensure timeliness, accuracy and completeness (including Gift Card Mall and SDM Gift Cards)
- The candidate is expected to manage relationships with the Customer Call Centre, 3rd party vendors, IT (during system outages), retail accounting and the B2B team.
- Identify opportunities for improving processes; automating processes when suitable through existing application functionality or proposed application enhancements.t
Corporate FP&A & Reporting
- Facilitate the successful development of the annual plan and ensure appropriate communication to all relevant stakeholders for gift cards
- Maintain schedules of various corporate entries for planning and forecasting
- Conduct balance sheet reconciliations on a periodic basis
- Assist with ad-hoc and cross-functional projects and initiatives as required
- Commitment to promoting a workplace of inclusiveness and belonging
What you bring:
- A Post-Secondary education in Finance or related field is required; experience working in a fast-paced environment, particularly corporate and/or retail will be considered an asset
- Minimum of 3-5 years’ finance experience
- Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to bring together and manage interactions with employees from across the organization
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to manage demanding situations with tact
- Excellent oral and written communications skills
- Ability to plan, organize and prioritize numerous tasks with conflicting deadlines
- Results Oriented – able to consistently deliver on time and accurate results
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite of tools preferably Excel, Access, VBA
- Familiarity with SAP and MicroStrategy will be an asset
- Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
