Senior Coordinator, Transport

13 Months Contract Role

What you'll do: 

  • Plan and schedule inbound loads in alignment with distribution center capacity, delivery appointments, and priority requirements.
  • Utilize Transportation Management System (TMS) for load tracking, carrier communication, and appointment scheduling.
  • Collaborate with procurement, suppliers, and transportation teams to ensure accurate ETA and load visibility.
  • Review forecasts and historical trends to optimize inbound flow and book the trucks.
  • Adjust plans based on real-time changes such as weather delays, carrier issues, or warehouse constraints.
  • Ensure all systems are updated in real time with correct statuses, delays, and documentation.
  • Communicate with carriers and suppliers to confirm booking details, resolve delays, and manage appointment windows.
  • Escalate non-compliance or chronic issues with suppliers or carriers to transport leadership.
  • Coordinate with receiving teams to prioritize unloads based on product sensitivity, dock schedules, and storage availability.
  • Assist with troubleshooting product shortages, overages, or damage during the unloading process.
  • Support effective trailer turnaround to prevent detention or demurrage.
  • Generate and distribute daily, weekly, and monthly inbound reports (e.g., on-time performance, fill rates, dwell time).
  • Analyze data to identify trends, root causes, and opportunities for process improvement.
  • Present inbound performance results to internal stakeholders during operations or planning meetings.

What You’ll Need:

  • Strong organization skills would be an asset 
  • College Education preferred 
  • 1-2 years of related work experience (Transport/Supply Chain/Warehouse) 
  • Excellent communication skills are an asset 
  • Must have strong leadership skills 
  • Must have the ability to multitask, make decisions and problem solve.
