Senior Analyst, Allocations

Role Mandate:

The Senior Analyst, Allocations will be accountable for improving promotional space optimization through inventory flow, forecasting, reducing days on hand, and maximizing sales and profit opportunities. The role will be responsible for analyzing the historical and future plans of the promotional floor plan to determine opportunities and manage the inventory flow through the markdown optimization process.

Tasks/Responsibilities & Key Accountabilities

  • Manage weekly promotional allocation program to ensure stores receive enough quantities to support flyer and off shelf displays
  • Collaborate with category teams to assist in seasonal program allocation
  • Use analytics to maximize sales by identifying opportunities through zero sales, sell through and markdown data
  • Manage the markdown process within the category teams to make recommendations and receive feedback on future price changes
  • Submit all markdown price changes to be executed on a weekly basis and monitor the sell through
  • Reporting of weekly/periodic/quarterly post-mortems of floor display results with a focus on sell through, forecast accuracy, sales and margin.
  • Assist in creating floor merchandising plans to meet the needs of our customers and stores

Role Requirements:

  • Post-secondary education in economics/business/finance or any other quantities field
  • Previous experience in retail operations, merchandise planning, and analytics is an asset
  • Strong analytical background
  • Ability to innovate, influence others, and collaborate with many complementary teams
  • Proficient in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and other Office Products
  • Experience with Query Tools (Teradata, GCP, SAS, MicroStrategy)
  • Programming and/or Data Processing skills an asset (Python, SQL, VBA)
