Senior Analyst, Loyalty Strategy & Business Development

As part of the Loyalty team at Loblaw, you will be part of a group that helps shape the future direction of Canada's largest and most loved loyalty program.

As a Senior Analyst, Loyalty Strategy & Business Development, you will play a key role in supporting the team that finds new opportunities, builds strong partnerships, and guides the overall direction for the PC Optimum program. Reporting to the Director, Loyalty Strategy & Business Development, you will contribute to developing and executing our overall program strategy, supporting annual and strategic planning, and helping to enhance the program through new strategic partnerships. You'll bring a passion for staying on top of the latest market and customer trends, and a knack for turning insights into actionable recommendations. This role is crucial in providing the analytical horsepower and research support needed to enhance the member experience for the millions of Canadians we serve.

What you’ll do

  • Support the development of overall program strategy by conducting research and analysis to identify key growth areas and competitive insights
  • Assist with the annual and long-term strategic planning processes for the PC Optimum program, helping to translate vision into actionable plans and initiatives
  • Prepare data, insights, and presentation materials for program and business updates to senior leaders, helping to articulate strategic direction and performance
  • Conduct research and analysis to develop partnership strategy and support discussions with prospective loyalty partners, identifying mutually beneficial business opportunities
  • Perform financial modeling, data analysis, market/competitive research, and prepare materials to develop approach to partnerships and evaluate partnership candidates
  • Support the team in preparing for discussions with existing and potential partners, gathering necessary information and documentation
  • Help build relationships with current partners and industry participants by contributing to proactive business development activities

Does this sound like you?

  • Real world experience. 2-4 years of relevant experience in an analytical role, business analysis, strategy, or similar. Experience in retail, loyalty, or a data-driven environment is a plus
  • Interest in Loyalty. You have a strong interest in how loyalty programs work and how they create value for both customers and the business
  • Strong communication and presentation skills. You can clearly explain your findings and help prepare compelling presentations
  • Self-starter. You show strong initiative and are eager to take ownership and learn
  • Analytical mindset. You have strong analytical skills, including the ability to conduct financial analysis, work with data, and contribute to building business cases
  • Problem-solver. You enjoy tackling complex problems and contributing to solutions, even when information isn't always clear
  • Collaborative. You can work effectively with different teams and build strong relationships within the company
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, marketing, or a business-related field is required
  • Strong proficiency using MS Office Suite and experience with basic SQL is an asset

Please note: This role is based at 500 Lakeshore Blvd West. Regular travel across GTA offices is required.
