Overview:
The successful candidate will be involved in triaging issues and the testing of various projects that affect revenue postings on SAP ECC, POSDTA, MicroStrategy, and other systems. Projects can include government regulations and tax changes. The senior analyst will track, maintain, follow-up, triage, and investigate production issues that affect revenue posting working with our EBS and technology teams. The candidate will also provide StatsCan with periodic sales and inventory reporting.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead in design, development and implementation of new projects that affect POS (point-of-sale), POSDTA, and ECC concerning revenue and cost postings.
- Track, maintain, and investigate production issues related to projects affecting POS, POSDTA and ECC.
- Identify data issues and communicate with corresponding groups across the business
- Assist with StatsCan and ad hoc reporting projects and analysis as required
- Testing of PKE, WP and other SAP projects.
- Key SME on implementing and testing projects that impact POSDTA.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years related work experience in similar role.
- University degree or post secondary education – business, commerce, accounting or finance related. Enrollment in an accounting program (CGA, CMA, CA) would be a definite asset.
- Thorough understanding of PnL and Balance Sheet
- Advanced skills in Microsoft office applications (Excel: pivot tables, vlook-up, macros, graphing & sorting, Access: pulling data, joining tables & cross tab tables, PowerPoint).
- Working Knowledge of SQL query tools (SAS) to develop reports or MicroStrategy would be an asset.
- Working knowledge of MicroStrategy and report/cube development in MicroStrategy
- Previous experience with SAP ERP system is preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills – able to effectively obtain information, communicate issues, actively engage in influencing others and working as a team.
- Must possess strong analytical skills with attention to detail and consistency in report presentation.
- Results oriented - ability to prioritize and consistently deliver on time with high degree of accuracy.
- Ability to work & multi task in a fast pace, high pressure, high volume environment.
- Some flexibility in working hours required.
- Ability to work collaboratively across multiple business units within and outside of Finance
- Understand of retail environment and associated processes such as POS, Inventory, Costing
- Strategic thinker with the ability to assess the implications to reporting resulting from process changes
