This position plays a key role providing financial support to the Food Merchandising Business Unit of the Hard Discount division. The successful candidate will contribute to the Finance team’s ability to provide Data Driven Insights to the business and aid with the achievement of financial targets.
Accountabilities:
- Analyze and monitor variances in the forecast model and work with business partners to investigate and resolve financial issues
- Prepare weekly reports to track financial performance and provide financial insights to business leads
- Support the economic evaluation of capital projects related to merchandising initiatives
- Other Merch FP&A duties and ad hoc projects as assigned
- Collaborate with category teams, business leads, and finance partners to identify opportunities to improve reporting and forecasting
- Assist in preparation of annual category budgets
- Consolidate large amounts of complex data into simplified views
- Variance analysis on P&L results and identification of trends
- Validation and preparation of period end accruals
Role Requirements:
- Advanced Excel/Access proficiency and experience with business intelligence (BI) tools such as Microstrategy
- Self-starter with ability to thrive in ambiguity
- Ideal candidate would have (or be pursuing) an accounting/finance designation
- Financial experience in a corporate retail environment ideal
- SAP experience is an asset
