Program Specialist, PC Children's Charity - Brampton, ON
About the Opportunity:
Join our team as a highly organized and personable Program Specialist to help us amplify the impact of our vital Power Full Kids program. In this role, you'll expertly manage the application process, ensure adherence to audit standards and deliver insightful reports. You'll also work closely with our program intermediaries to enhance program effectiveness and foster rewarding connections between our donors and fundraisers. Beyond these responsibilities, you're passionate about building an inclusive workplace that values diversity, continuous learning, collaboration, and recognizes team achievements. This role reports to the Senior Manager, Programs and Strategy
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Co-own the end-to-end Power Full Kids program application process, ensuring timely review, eligibility verification, and accurate payment processing. This includes evaluating applications for quality and adherence to program guidelines, extracting approved application data and preparing it for financial system import, maintaining accurate grant records within both our cloud-based CRM/Granting system and financial systems, and ensuring timely AP posting and approvals for each EFT cycle.
Monitor program progress monthly, tracking key metrics such as disbursements by program and fund, application counts by program and province, and number of children reached by program and province.
Review and implement updates to Power Full Kids program applications annually, including refining questions, email communications, and reporting forms.
Identify and cultivate compelling storytelling opportunities to enhance brand awareness and engagement on social media platforms.
Monitor key national developments and emerging trends in food insecurity and be able to synthesize findings into detailed summary reports.
Respond to program inquiries received in the shared inbox in a timely and professional manner.
Conduct thoughtful execution and review of mid-year and final reports for all grant recipients. Tasks may include report revisions, directed school follow-up, in-person program reviews, response trend analysis and results summarization for leadership.
Innovate, build and coordinate and execute volunteer opportunities for colleagues, vendors and team initiatives.
Undertake special projects and other duties as required to support the overall success of the program.
WHAT YOU BRING:
University and/or College education in business administration, communications, community engagement, or a related field.
Experience working in the non-profit, charitable, and/or corporate social responsibility (CSR) sector, with an understanding of the unique priorities, stakeholders, and operating environments within these spaces.
Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel.
Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to effectively prioritize multiple tasks.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written).
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
Ability and willingness to obtain a satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Check as a condition of employment. Strong presentation skills.
Self-motivated, optimistic, and a collaborative team player.
Knowledge of French (an asset).
