Job Description
Role Mandate:
- Perform the role of Product Developer, providing flexible support for the Product Development team as responsibilities evolve with business needs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet margin targets while preserving product integrity.
- Manage key milestones and timelines, proactively communicate challenges, and ensure alignment with seasonal calendars.
Role Responsibilities:
- Attend and actively participate in milestone meetings.
- Lead key seasonal meetings, providing relevant analysis to support direction and alignment across cross-functional partners.
- Collaborate with Raw Materials, Sourcing, and Design teams to source and track fabrications, trims, and techniques for seasonal and future developments.
- Partner with cross functional teams to meet margin targets without compromising design intent.
- Analyze all components of garments, set FOB targets, and negotiate costs directly with overseas factories to achieve desired price points and margin objectives.
- Initiate and maintain accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs) throughout the product lifecycle.
- Maintain daily communication with vendors to ensure progress and adherence to the Development Calendar.
- Responsible for tracking and distribution of fabric/trim sourcing to the Design Team
- Maintain daily communication with vendors to ensure adherence to the Development Calendar.
- Prepare samples and organize materials for milestone and internal meetings.
- Attend and contribute Product Development perspectives during first fit sessions.
- Communicate with factories and follow-up on design development and style confirmation.
- Ensure vendors adhere to the Development Calendar through daily communication.
- Analyze sales data from past and current seasons to inform decision-making.
- Participate in store visits and competitive shopping to remain current with market trends.
Role Qualifications:
- College education with 5+ years of relevant experience in the fashion industry.
- Strong knowledge of fabric content and garment construction.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required.
- PLM experience is a plus but not required.
- Keen eye for design, detail, and style.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and solutions-focused.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining visibility and alignment when leadership is unavailable.
- Comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic, and diverse work environment.
- Strong team player with proven collaboration skills.
