Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the day to day management of all aspects of the Meat department including: ordering, merchandising, customer service and labour scheduling.

  • Champion and exemplify exceptional customer service and satisfaction through consistent application of store processes and standards.

  • Consistently ensure service counters ‘wow’ the customer; execute standards to offer an exceptionally presentable department with a reputation for freshness and quality.

  • Provide leadership to staff through delegation of work and scheduling, ongoing training, and promotion of a harmonious work environment.

  • Monitor financial objectives and ensure that budgets are met through efficient operation of the department, keeping an eye on gross profit, labour productivity, operational expenses, inventory control, and shrink targets.

  • To cut meat in compliance with the store’s cutting standards.

  • To receive meat and check invoices ensuring quantity is accurate and quality of product meets with store standards.

  • To follow the store safety procedures at all times.

  • To respond to any customer inquiries or requests maintaining courteous customer relations at all times.

  • Adhere to strict cleaning schedule ensuring a high level of cleanliness and sanitation standards.

Requirements

  • Must be a certified Meat Cutter / Butcher.

  • 1 - 2 years previous experience cutting meat.

  • Able to stand for length of the shift (up to 8 hours).

  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs.

  • Demonstrated commitment to customer and employee relations.

  • Able to work a variety of shifts including weekends and holidays as required.

  • Able to work as a member of a team and support the execution of team goals.
