The pay range for the co-op student role will reflect factors such as the candidate's experience, academic level, and the specific skillset required for the role.
Loblaw has adopted the following hybrid working model (a combination of working between the office and remotely). Colleagues can work remotely up to 1 day a week, while spending the other 4 days in the office (to be determined by each business unit).
Are you a design student passionate about bringing ideas to life visually? Do you see the world in layouts, colours, and typography? Then this could be the co-op for you! Loblaw Agency is looking for a motivated Designer Co-op to join our creative team.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to team up with a copywriter and other creative professionals to help create visually compelling digital experiences for our grocery banners. This is a chance to apply your classroom knowledge to real-world projects and develop your skills in a supportive, collaborative environment. You will learn how to design engaging creative for a variety of digital channels and see how thoughtful, beautiful, and fun design makes a difference to the customer experience.

Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with and learn from Copywriters and other team members to assist in designing and executing creative concepts for a range of digital assets.
- Support the design process for a variety of digital channels, including website content, promotional landing pages, emails, banner ads, and social media posts.
- Participate in briefings to understand project goals and learn how to apply visual design best practices.
- Help create clean, compelling, and on-brand designs that reflect each grocery banner's unique visual identity and brand guidelines.
- Assist in ensuring visual quality, consistency, and accuracy across all creative assets.
- Support the team in meeting project deadlines while upholding brand standards.
- Stay curious and learn about the latest trends in digital design, user experience, and art direction.
- Help maintain organized project files and adhere to established creative workflows.
What You’ll Need
- A portfolio demonstrating your visual design skills is required (school projects are highly encouraged).
- Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program in Graphic Design, Digital Media, or a related field.
- Proficiency with the Adobe Creative Suite (specifically Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign/XD) is essential.
- A strong interest in e-commerce, retail, or the grocery industry is an asset.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- A foundational understanding of design principles for digital channels (web, email, social).
- An eagerness to learn about user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) principles.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- A collaborative spirit, with an eagerness to learn, ask questions, and contribute in brainstorming sessions.
- Ability to work effectively with a fast-moving team in a stimulating and ever-evolving environment.
