The pay range for the co-op student role will reflect factors such as the candidate's experience, academic level, and the specific skillset required for the role.

Loblaw has adopted the following hybrid working model (a combination of working between the office and remotely). Colleagues can work remotely up to 1 day a week, while spending the other 4 days in the office (to be determined by each business unit).

As a part of the Loyalty Analytics team, the co-op colleague will be leveraging analytics concepts to identify opportunities, develop solutions and integrate them into our core business processes.  Our co-op program will provide hands-on experience in areas such as customer segmentation, offer targeting and personalization, campaign performance measurement, portfolio management, process automation, and AI-driven projects.

A successful co-op colleague will be:

  • Passionate about data, algorithms, programming and loyalty programs

  • Motivated to use data and AI to drive personalized experiences and stronger customer engagement

  • A self-starter and creative problem solver, eager to uncover insights that improve program performance

  • Curious about loyalty trends and business opportunities, with an interest in applying AI solutions such as offer targeting or lifecycle

  • Comfortable researching new technologies and analytics methods independently

  • Excited to learn, adopt, and share innovative approaches within the team

  • Effective both when working alone or collaborating with others across departments

  • Focused on enhancing processes that benefit our customers and the business

  • Able to juggle multiple projects while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment

  • Professional, detail-oriented, and able to communicate clearly with colleagues at all organizational levels 

Qualifications:

  • Enrolled in undergraduate degree similar to Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science and Statistics, or a similar field

  • Programming experience in SQL and Python, R, or any other programming language

  • Interest in applying AI techniques to customer loyalty analytics (e.g., personalization, offer targeting)

  • Ability to convert data to insight, insight to recommendations and recommendations into an action plan

  • Experience working with large datasets and data visualization tools (e.g., Looker, Power BI) is an asset

  • Strong communication skills for sharing results with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

  • Detail-oriented with a passion for enhancing customer experiences through innovative AI solutions
