Manager, Strategic Sourcing- Corporate Services
Job Description:
The Manager, Strategic Sourcing, reports to the Director, Strategic Sourcing and plays a key role on behalf of our internal clients in sourcing and negotiating non-trade goods and services agreements, specifically for the Corporate Services area. The Manager is responsible for categories with large spend and providing new ideas and leadership to secure the best market value through process improvement, demand management, sourcing initiatives, and program management and compliance. In this role the Manager, Strategic Sourcing will prepare and analyze moderate to complex category sourcing projects, provide recommendations, lead negotiations and implementation for the award of business to third party vendors. The Manager will also manage process compliance for enterprise-wide programs across the portfolio.
Accountabilities:
Lead end-to-end sourcing and contracting process for cross-functional teams in the execution of strategic sourcing projects and designated departmental spend reduction and process improvement initiatives
Manage and optimize supplier relationships, including contract compliance, continuous improvement, innovation, and reduction in total cost of ownership
Maintain collaborative relationships with third party vendor(s) while effectively resolving vendor performance/capability issues to ensure alignment with Loblaw Companies expectations
Build and own relationships with internal clients and be responsible for delivery of best-in-class strategic sourcing, contract management, negotiation and supplier management practices with regards to moderate-complex spend categories
Develop opportunity assessments and strategies based on changing market conditions for assigned categories and application of advance sourcing methodology in negotiation planning and contract development
Keep informed of technology offerings and market trends that facilitate the purchasing of indirect goods/services both domestically and globally to reduce the total cost of ownership
Continually seek process or asset improvements to maximize cost savings
Self starter and project management mindset to ensure that work is done accurately, efficiently and in compliance with policies, procedures and standards as well as best working practices
Role Requirements:
A university degree, preferably in Business, Engineering or a related field
5-8 years of experience with negotiation and/or process improvement
Previous experience working in large matrix organization an advantage
Preferred - knowledge in retail, IT, HR or similar industry is an advantage
External procurement certification an advantage
Process Improvement certification an advantage
Previous experience within Category Management, Strategic Sourcing or Process Improvement preferred
Previous experience with Jaggaer, SAP, Ariba and Fieldglass would be an added advantage
Proficient with MS Office (specifically Excel, PowerPoint)

This position requires an advanced level of initiative and judgment in order to organize and prioritize tasks, workload and projects. Courtesy, tact and diplomacy are required in dealing with colleagues in every day working relationships.
Advanced communication skills and capabilities in negotiating and managing cross functional team-based approach to spend reduction
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing with all levels of the workforce including senior leadership and executive management
Ability to think innovatively and apply innovations to practical business problems
Adaptable and able to work with diverse personalities and styles
Strong business acumen along with a strong understanding of quality standards relative to procurement and contract administration.
Proven track record in selling the value contribution of the department to the rest of the organization
Significant development of a wide range of sourcing and supplier performance management related skills and knowledge, including a solid understanding of, and the ability to deploy strategic sourcing methodologies
Capable of successfully managing significant sourcing projects with limited management involvement
Competencies and knowledge of contract development
Prior Strategic Procurement experience and excellent problem solving and risk management skills
