Why is this role important
As part of the Integrated Communications Team, the Social Media Manager leads the development and execution of Joe Fresh’s social media strategy across all major platforms. Reporting to the Partnerships & Communications Lead, this role oversees the content and strategy planning for organic social, campaign and partnership programs, and community management, while ensuring social media drives brand awareness, engagement, and sales. The Manager also leads the social team and co-manages the social/communications internship program.
What you'll do:
Strategy & Planning
Develop and execute an annual always-on/evergreen social media strategy across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube, Pinterest, and LinkedIn.
Manage creative strategy for all special campaign programs across platforms.
Liaise with Integrated Communications, Marketing, Creative, Category, and Paid Media teams to coordinate promotions and drive engagement, community growth, and sales.
Build and manage the social media content calendar from concept through execution, including campaign content and influencer programs.
Stay current on digital and cultural trends, and react quickly to emerging TikTok and social moments.
Content & Community
Write copy for posts that aligns with the Joe Fresh voice and tone while respecting platform best practices.
Capture and edit content for campaign programs, as well as always-on planning (occasionally appear in front of the camera for stills and video).
Ensure all creative meets brand standards, is consistent across platforms, and offers an engaging customer experience.
Manage inbound customer inquiries and commentary, escalating to internal teams as appropriate.
Partnerships & Collaboration
Partner with the Ecommerce team to test and validate landing pages, strengthening conversion and understanding of the customer journey.
Collaborate with platform partners to adopt the latest features and best practices.
Measurement & Reporting
Track, analyze, and report on social performance to quantify impact and drive actionable learnings.
Implement UTMs and other tracking methods to better understand effectiveness and optimize campaigns.
Leadership & Team Management
Manage the Social Media Specialist and Intern to ensure community and brand standards are upheld.
Co-manage the social and communications internship program, including onboarding and mentorship.
What You’ll Bring
6+ years of experience in social media marketing, managing channels for a brand, as well as 1-2 years of experience managing direct reports.
Proven experience building and executing cross-platform social strategies.
Track record of generating and executing social campaigns that grow Canadian audiences and deliver on engagement metrics.
Strong writing and editing skills for social media copy.
Experience using analytics tools and data to measure impact and improve performance.
Proficiency with editing tools (Adobe Photoshop, Figma, Canva, CapCut) and Microsoft Office Suite; Dash Social experience an asset.
Highly organized self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays as needed for posting/engagement.
· Strong interpersonal and cross-functional collaboration skills.
· Keen sensibility for fashion, retail, pop culture, and digital/social trends.
· Bilingual English/French is an asset (not required).
