Manager, Media Strategy - 12mth Contract

Over the last 4 years the LM internal team has been creating an operating model that empowers Marketing teams to extract the MOST VALUE from their media strategies & investment while advancing our measurement discipline.
The Impact You'll Make:
A trusted strategic advisor for our Internal Brands - the Manager, Media Strategy will work with our Internal Brand Marketing partners to identify opportunities and barriers to growth, and recommends the right mix of Digital Media solutions to drive business outcomes as the main point of contact for campaign strategy & implementation. You specialize in simplifying the complex and advocating for focused efforts, with clear learning agendas. This role requires excellent communication and time management skills.
What You'll Do:
- Annual & Campaign Planning: Lead annual and campaign planning for Loblaw Media’s brand partners, ensuring alignment with overall marketing and advertising objectives.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with account, data science, audience, and execution teams to translate brand objectives into integrated media strategies and programs.
- Campaign Management: Oversee day-to-day campaign strategy across planning, implementation, optimization, and reporting; act as liaison between clients and internal teams (Ad Ops, Creative, Production).
- Strategic Recommendations: Deliver timely strategic and tactical recommendations informed by Loblaw’s data and audience insights.
- Team Development: Support the growth and training of Media Specialist team members through mentorship and collaborative development.
- Financial & Operational Management: Partner with Finance and Ad Operations to manage forecasting, budget tracking, contracting, and resolution of billing issues.
- Market & Industry Awareness: Develop knowledge of the marketplace, competitors, and emerging technologies to inform media planning and execution.
What You'll Bring:
- Media Expertise: Proven ability to plan and execute media strategies across digital and traditional platforms, consistently aligning tactics with brand standards, KPIs, and business objectives.
- Strategic Planning: Skilled in developing both short- and long-term media plans that drive measurable business outcomes while adapting to changing priorities.
- Analytical Rigor: Strong ability to conduct fact-based analysis, interpret complex data, and apply reasoned judgment to inform media decisions and optimize performance.
- Budget & Resource Management: Experienced in forecasting, allocating, and managing media budgets with a strong track record of fiscal responsibility.
- Creative Problem-Solving: Adept at identifying critical issues, resolving challenges with focus, and innovating with fresh, out-of-the-box solutions.
- Adaptability & Versatility: Comfortable shifting between strategy, planning, and hands-on account management while maintaining attention to detail and results.
- Organization & Prioritization: Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects effectively and deliver with urgency in fast-paced environments.
- Communication & Influence: Excellent communication and presentation skills, able to simplify complex ideas and inspire collaboration across teams and stakeholders.
- Collaboration & Leadership: Team-oriented with a strong work ethic and passion for collaboration, fostering positive partnerships to achieve collective goals.

Skills & Requirements:
5+ years in media planning, account, or campaign management (CPG, Retail experience an asset)
Experience in client services type environment – leading end to end account support
Experience with Digital Media Channels such as Facebook Business Manager, DV360, Google Ads, Social Media, etc.
Strong grasp of marketing and media products in the marketplace
Understanding of marketing, creative, planning, ad ops
Ability to work successfully with teams, handling multiple projects, and meeting tight deadlines under pressure, prior project management experience is an asset
