About the Role
We are currently looking for a Head of Production to join Marketing and Brands, reporting to the VP, Loblaw Agency. This will be an integral role at Loblaw Companies Ltd. as we evolve our in-house agency. This position will be responsible for building and managing a team of Producers to ensure top quality production across all disciplines: video, print, digital, and experiential. They will also have oversight of production artists and editors and digital production.
With a depth of experience in marketing production, they will be prepared to impact budgets, timelines, quality of work, and approach to production at scale for the organization. The ideal candidate will have a thirst for evolution, be on top of trends, and knowledge of best practices to ensure all content is delivered to high quality standards.
Brands supported include Loblaws, Zehrs, Real Canadian Superstore, nofrills, Shoppers Drug Mart, President’s Choice and no name.
Responsibilities
- Assess production needs to allocate relevant Producers and production teams to each project
- Responsible for monitoring production tools and workflows, especially as they pertain to multi-site locations
- Staff, mentor and maintain top Production talent across identified Disciplines
- Ensure projects and teams work in unison to meet deadlines
- Ability to maintain the “Bigger Picture” while staying in the project details to be able to support and guide as required
- Allocate staff to projects and be accountable for successful onboarding, staffing, and delivery
- Enhance the overall production standards across all disciplines
- Oversee the scope, workflow, project estimates, and budget of all projects
- Manage and guide larger scale productions when issues arise drawing on depth of knowledge and expertise to push projects ahead
- Ensure the use of effective processes across the department and align to Loblaw processes and compliance
- Regular meeting cadence with Executive Creative Director to understand upcoming needs and potential production gaps
- Ensure expert knowledge and production resources are kept up to date
- Ensure that quality and consistency is felt across all deliverables regardless of internal or external talent
- Foster strong relationships across all partner agencies
- Push for top quality, timeline and budget realities to ensure marketing budget is pushed as far as reasonable in the production space
- Act as the liaison between agencies and creative teams as required to ensure the vision comes to life as imagined in budget + timeline
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of relevant experience
- Strong leadership experience in managing and mentoring teams across diverse projects
- Understanding of brand management, customer experience methodology, marketing,
- Effective time management skills
- Calm under pressure, resourceful and a creative problem solver, used to working under strict deadlines
- Understanding financials and ability to manage a budget
- Exceptional verbal & written communication and presentation skills
- Bachelor’s Degree
