Why This Role is Important
In this contract role, you will design marketing materials adhering to brand guidelines, covering print, social media, and digital platforms.
This role requires a versatile designer with strong graphic design, typography, project management, and collaboration skills, capable of working under tight deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate: Work with lead creatives, writers, and production artists to develop customer-centric advertising concepts.
Design: Create graphics and advertising materials for Loblaw Marketing initiatives, managing projects from concept to final files.
Creative Concepts: Develop industry-leading creative ideas.
Language Adaptation: Ensure materials are effectively translated into French and bilingual versions.
Photography: Source appropriate stock and existing photography.
Trend Monitoring: Stay updated on design trends and competitor marketing strategies.
Software Proficiency: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of software and creative techniques.
Presentation: Present creative concepts to marketing partners and clients.
Requirements
Educational Background: Diploma or degree in Graphic Design or a related field.
Experience: Experience in graphic design within a fast-paced marketing environment
Design Skills: Advanced graphic design and typography skills.
Advertising Understanding: Excellent grasp of effective and unique advertising principles.
Software Proficiency: Proficient in Adobe Photoshop and the Adobe Creative Suite on Mac. Figma experience is a bonus.
Adaptability: Quick to react and adapt to business needs with creativity.
Project Management: Capable of prioritizing and managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Teamwork: Effective in a team environment.
Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Typography: Excellent typography skills.
Pre-Press Skills: Mastery of pre-press file preparation.
Interpersonal Skills: Exceptional skills for sourcing information, obtaining approvals, building relationships, and influencing success.
Problem-Solving: Excellent problem-solving skills.
We love to be upfront about our pay rates and as we pay our contractors an hourly rate, please note that the hourly range for this position is $30 - $34 per hour. The final pay rate offered will be based on candidate's overall skillset and experience. Candidates are welcome to ask further questions regarding compensation during their screening interviews.
