Overall Mandate:
To prepare bakery products for packaging and delivery while ensuring that the quality and quantity of the products is consistent in meeting the Company’s standards.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- To assist and support all areas of the bakery production in the Commissary as per the direction of the Bakery Manager;
- Responsible for the scaling, mixing, and shaping of the product;
- Maintain standardized recipes to ensure consistent quality;
- To assist in the ordering of department supplies and control the inventory level of product;
- To assist the supervisor in the training and direction of part time staff;
- Ensure proper equipment maintenance and operations;
- To ensure the cleanliness, sanitation, and health and safety of the department meets with Company standards; and
- Other duties as required.
The Ideal Candidate Would Possess:
- Self-motivated & quick learner
- Ability to follow set recipes
- Work independently with ability to follow direction
- Physical manual labour required
- Must have excellent organization, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Able to work in a fast paced, process driven, high volume production environment
- Flexible to work a variety of shifts; mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends
Education/Experience:
- 2-3 years’ experience with Baking or Food Preparation would be an asset;
- Previous experience and knowledge with various baking equipment and Artisan baking an asset
