Reporting directly to the Vice President of Operations, the District Manager in Training is a dynamic leader passionate about developing high-performing teams and driving exceptional business results. As a District Manager in Training you will provide coaching and mentorship to Store Leadership Teams of Dominion in Newfoundland, fostering a culture of deeply rooted on our CORE values: Care, Ownership, Respect and Excellence.

In this role, you will:

  • Collaborate with Store Support to develop and communicate a district plan that establishes financial targets and provides a strong strategic direction for each store in your district. 
  • Liaise closely with Store Support and Store Management to provide coaching and guidance, leadership growth, develop day to day operations, achieve targets and foster an environment of community, customer centricity and continuous improvement. 
  • Perform regular store visits to monitor the implementation and execution of strategic plans, including marketing and merchandising, adherence to operational standards and identify opportunities to improve performance. 
  • Analyze sales and financial data including P&L statements to monitor the financial success of each location, highlight potential growth areas, and ensure the Store Managers are on target to meet budget. 
  • Monitor business systems in each location to highlight and recommend opportunities for improvement. 
  • Develop and communicate action plans to successfully implement Super.Market initiatives efficiently and effectively. 
  • Develop and communicate operational methodologies and best working practices to improve customer service, visual merchandising and process improvements. 
  • Communicate regularly with Store Managers and their teams to resolve issues or concerns promptly, coordinating between Stores and Store Support and provide recommendations as required. 
  • Identify potential new talent and assist in interviewing, hiring and training of Colleagues to develop strong skills across the store.

What you'll need:

  • Exceptional customer service skills and a talent for building customer loyalty.

  • A commitment to delivering consistent results every day.
  • 10+ years of retail store or related management experience
