The Director, Operational Systems & Process is responsible for defining and executing the long-term strategy for operational systems, business processes, and continuous improvement across Supply Chain Operations. This role partners closely with Supply Chain, IT, and business leaders to drive innovation, standardize processes, and optimize technology solutions that enhance operational performance.
The successful candidate will lead two key strategic workstreams:
- Process innovation, enhancement, and standardization across Supply Chain Operations.
- Business systems strategy, including identifying business needs and designing scalable technology solutions using a design-thinking approach.
This leader will establish the vision, governance framework, and execution strategy for both workstreams while ensuring alignment with evolving business priorities. The role requires strong cross-functional collaboration, strategic planning, and change leadership to deliver sustainable business results. Leading a high-performing team, the Director will foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and accountability while developing talent and promoting effective change management practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the strategic vision and roadmap for Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), and related operational processes.
- Lead the continuous improvement, standardization, and optimization of supply chain systems and operational workflows.
- Build strong partnerships with Supply Chain, IT, and external technology providers to promote collaboration, transparency, and shared business outcomes.
- Monitor emerging industry trends, technologies, and best practices, identifying opportunities to improve business performance and drive innovation.
- Evaluate, implement, and scale new technologies and operational solutions that enhance end-to-end supply chain capabilities.
- Develop and maintain multi-year technology roadmaps that align with business strategy and future operational requirements.
- Establish governance processes to prioritize initiatives, manage project portfolios, and ensure effective execution.
- Ensure consistent business support methodologies, tools, and standards across all operational systems initiatives.
- Measure project outcomes and operational performance to ensure initiatives deliver expected business value.
- Lead organizational change initiatives by applying structured change management principles and proactively addressing adoption challenges.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to translate corporate strategy into operational execution and future-state supply chain capabilities.
- Build, coach, and develop a high-performing team by establishing clear expectations, identifying capability gaps, and supporting ongoing professional development.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, collaboration, and operational excellence.
Qualifications
- 7–10 years of progressive experience in Supply Chain, Retail, Distribution, or Operations.
- 4–7 years of leadership experience managing teams and cross-functional initiatives.
- Demonstrated success leading enterprise process improvement and operational transformation initiatives.
- Proven experience managing complex projects, balancing competing priorities, timelines, and resource constraints.
- Experience implementing or supporting Supply Chain systems
- Strong expertise in process improvement methodologies, analytics, performance measurement, and data-driven decision-making.
- Experience translating strategic objectives into practical, executable programs and initiatives.
- Strong stakeholder management, influencing, negotiation, and relationship-building skills across all organizational levels.
- Experience leading enterprise change management initiatives.
- Knowledge of modern supply chain technologies, automation, and digital transformation strategies.
- Demonstrated ability to build collaborative partnerships across business and technology organizations.
- A people-first leader who models integrity, authenticity, collaboration, and trust while developing high-performing teams.
