About the Distribution Centre:
We are opening a brand-new distribution centre at Highway 404 and Green Lane in East Gwillimbury, Ontario. This state-of-the-art 1.2 million-square-foot, automated, multi-temperature facility will support Loblaw’s world-class distribution network. We are seeking enthusiastic distribution operations candidates to join our team and support the launch and ongoing operation of this new facility.
About the Role:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Compliance Supervisor to join our team. As a critical member of our compliance team, you will play a key role in ensuring our operations adhere to all relevant safety, regulatory, and company standards. What you will do:
- Prepare, organize, and maintain colleague onboarding documents.
- Scan and upload physical documents into electronic record systems, ensuring accuracy and accessibility.
- Help facilitate compliance orientation for new team members.
- Monitor compliance trackers, ensuring deadlines are met for certifications and training requirements.
- Serve as a liaison between the training/compliance department and operations teams to ensure consistent and timely information flow.
- Support company audits and compliance initiatives, contributing to a culture of continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Human Resources, Safety, Operations) to align compliance strategies with business objectives.
- Conduct regular warehouse inspections to identify and address potential safety or compliance issues.
- Assist the operations team in ensuring food safety, health and safety, and environmental safety standards are met in accordance with company policies, safety regulations, and industry best practices.
- Coordinate periodic audits and inspections, utilizing company-provided documentation and checklists to support operational readiness.
- Help ensure that standard operating procedures (SOPs) are followed and that all team members are aware of compliance expectations.
- Contribute to a positive and inclusive work environment.
- Other duties as required.
What you will need:
- 1-3 years of compliance experience and knowledge, preferably within a Distribution Centre or similar automated environment.
- Comfortable working in a temperature-controlled environment (+22 to -28 Degrees in some locations)
- Flexibility to work a variety of shifts (mornings, afternoons, nights) including weekends. This may include working in different areas of the distribution centre as needed.
- 1-3 years of leadership/mentorship experience with the ability to motivate and support others.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Comfort working with computer systems (MS Word, Excel, and Outlook) and the ability to learn new software quickly.
