Position:             Centre of Store Backup (Full Time)


Store:                  Daniel’s nofrills


Location:             1250 South Service Rd, Missisauga

Responsibilities:

  • Reports directly to Store Associate Manager
  • Ensure conditions and fullness of store are to standard with main focus in Centre of Store
  • Customer service
  • Open and close store
  • Train and motivate staff
  • Delegate and prioritize workload for staff
  • Effectively merchandise advertising and promotional programs
  • Maintain up to date information about market trends and competitor activities
  • Receiving, handling and storing of product to achieve optimal results
  • Ensure proper product rotation as required
  • Ensure pricing integrity
  • Maintain store cleanliness to appropriate standards
  • Understanding and maintaining of the Health and Safety Policies & Practices
  • Any other duties that may be required to ensure courteous friendly service, competitively priced products, and a store that meets and maintains the hygiene and safety standards specified.


Qualifications/Experience:

  • 2 years Fresh/Dry experience preferred
  • Demonstrated understanding of critical success factors for the no frills concept as a discount food store focusing on low price image.
  • Demonstrated understanding of a full time clerks’ impact on store performance as follows:
    • merchandising to appropriate no frills standards
    • maintaining and ordering proper inventory, including being familiar in dealing with direct suppliers and having knowledge of their products
    • checking invoices for proper product / pricing / quantities
    • maintaining cleanliness to appropriate standards
  • Excellent communication skills and a demonstrated team player
  • Demonstrated Customer focus
  • Ability to manage people
  • Ability to work with minimal functional direction
  • Must be able to lift using work safe guidelines
  • Open availability with the ability to work varying shifts, including weekends, evenings and holidays as needed
  • Solid understanding and previous experience with No Frills operations and products preferred
  • Demonstrated accountability for entire store in the absence of a manager
