Why is this role important:
Reporting to the Divisional Sr. Category Director, the Category Director, Omni-Channel will be accountable for leading every aspect of the online shopping experience for all food categories, including vision, strategy, financial performance and program execution. This role will be responsible for leading a group of passionate and hardworking individuals.

What you'll do:
Work closely with the in-store merchandising teams and Loblaw Digital to build category programs and ensure that targets for sales, margin, market share & tonnage for a group of categories are met
Work with various colleagues in retail merchandising, operations, control brands, supply chain, loyalty, marketing, and media
Responsible for the short-term & long-term category strategies within the division for the online channel
Lead and develop a team with online program management and execution, including promotional planning, forecasting, financial modelling with P&L impact analysis, product pricing decisions, promotional strategy effectiveness and digital content decisions
Responsible for the optimization of assortment within category to meet the KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) on sales and margin
Collaborate with Digital Central Merchandising team to create online experiences that engage customers effectively in discovering and buying specific categories
Set an online product pricing strategy that meets the needs of the format and to maintain a competitive advantage
In collaboration with the Digital Central Merchandising team, define go to market strategies for key seasonal events
Responsible for achieving overall online banner targets and Key Performance Indicators
Find opportunities to better represent the product online and work collaboratively with the Digital Central Merchandising team to define requirements for product description pages, category listing pages & others
Analyze weekly online channel basket, category & product performance online to find opportunities
Understand the competitive landscape of the category and retail online industry to be Canada’s favourite online destination
Excellent communication skills and able to present to senior management
Coach, develop and mentor team members. This includes explicit consideration of on-the-job training needs for each colleague, arranging appropriate training, providing feedback, and supporting colleague development
What you bring:
5 years of business experience in category management and/or e-commerce merchandising
3-5 years’ experience leading and establishing a team
A strong understanding of the market and competitive landscape to recognize and capitalize on opportunities
Thrive in a fast-paced environment, in partnerships with divisions and collaborators across the enterprise to solve complex problems
Shown strength in having a ‘customer lens’ in all decision-making process
Proven track record to develop short- and long-term plans in line with corporate strategies
Dynamic and innovative: passionately seeks out opportunities to improve competitiveness and demonstrates an innovative spirit.
Ability to gather and synthesize customer, competitor and market insight and information
Shown ability to deliver results in a high-pressure environment with the ability to set priorities and meet challenging deadlines.
An effective change agent who possesses the influencing skills needed to help the organization adopt new ways of thinking and accepts more sophisticated business tools
Champion strong business relationships through networking and communication skills
