Why this role is important?
Overview:
Reporting to the Category Director the incumbent supports the product and financial processes for category management. Assists in administration and management of categories and suppliers. Maintains data for flyers and supporting documents. Handles data retrieval and analysis for planograms, reviews, and supplier meetings.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Manages sales and financial data for weekly reports.
- Completes product and vendor set up and documentation.
- Maintains accurate product listing information.
- Prepares and updates worksheets for flyer, seasonal, marketing, and merchandising plans.
- Proofs flyer, seasonal, and marketing materials.
- Communicates category information to stores.
- Liaises with other departments (including Marketing Call Centre, Customer Service, Planogram, Logistics, Inventory and Promotions) to resolve issues.
Skills:
- Self-motivated with strong organizational and prioritization skills.
- Demonstrates courtesy, tact, and diplomacy in professional interactions.
- Understands inter-related work processes and adapts to assignments.
- Possesses strong computer skills, including spreadsheet, report, and database management.
- Communicates clearly, both verbally and in writing, with editing/proofreading skills.
- Knowledgeable in category management and merchandising principles.
Experience:
- Greater than one year of general business or merchandising experience.
- Experience using Loblaw SAP.
Education:
- Post-secondary education with courses in business, merchandising or equivalent.
