Associate Merchant, Joe Fresh - Co-op Student

Fall 2026 Work Term

Term Length: 4 months

Term Start: September 8, 2026

Term End: December 18, 2026

The pay range for the co-op student role will reflect factors such as the candidate's experience, academic level, and the specific skillset required for the role.

Loblaw has adopted the following hybrid working model (a combination of working between the office and remotely). Colleagues can work remotely up to 1 day a week, while spending the other 4 days in the office (to be determined by each business unit).

What you’ll do:

  • Work collaboratively with various colleagues in merchandising, operations, finance, supply chain, e-commerce, marketing and other divisions to achieve category objectives.

  • Build positive relationships with category vendors and external partners.

  • Assists in achieving sales, profit and inventory targets with a basic understanding of financial metrics

  • Responsible for all aspects involving item/article creation

  • Works to ensure all purchase order deadlines are met and executes PO updates as required

  • Creates and maintains all weekly and seasonal sales reports that help drive assortment planning and completes any requested ad hoc reporting

  • Executes weekly actions for markdowns, promotional downloads, PO tracking, etc.

  • Ensures correct pricing is uploaded into systems and resolves any pricing/scanning issues at store level

  • Validates all marketing assets prior to effective dates for flyers, in-store signage, and campaigns

  • Assists with sample management

What You'll Need:

  • A curious and ambitious mentality.

  • Experience in retail sales, or merchandising.

  • Post-secondary education or equivalent experience.

  • Ability influence without authority and collaborate efficiently with many diverse teams.

  • Experience using data and analytics to derive insights.

  • Financial, business and retail knowledge.

  • Skills in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Teams and comfortable working with various software platforms.
