As of October 15, 2024 Loblaw has adopted the following Hybrid working model (a combination of working between the office and remotely). Colleagues will continue working remotely up to 1 day a week, while spending the other 4 days in the office (to be determined by each business unit).
Under the leadership of the Director, the Analyst Enterprise Services supports the analysis and reporting of cost inflation, Commodity markets and Loblaw Supplier performance. The successful candidate will play an integral role in process improvements and share insight that will shape Loblaw vendor performance.
The successful Analyst will be given the enticing opportunity be a key member of the Enterprise Services group. This group is a central hub within the Loblaw organization that works closely with Procurement, Sourcing and Merchandising functions alongside Loblaw’s robust vendor community. This candidate will be working closely with Commodity’s Senior Managers and have the chance to create connections across Loblaw. As a part their Commodity responsibilities the Analyst will help quantify inflation to the Loblaw business and have a first-hand view of how cost changes are carried out at Loblaw's. They will also be trained on a specific ability in Commodity markets to quantify, validate and ultimately strive to handle inflation with the Loblaw vendor base. The candidate will receive first-hand experience of ERP systems along with a focus in Excel, Access and VBA/Python.
Additionally, they will have a keen sensibility for reporting, including working with large data sets and being able to distill and prepare all reporting materials. Finally, they will support the Commodities team within Vendor services department on day to day cost inflation needs, and long term strategic cost reduction initiatives.
Accountabilities:
Reporting
- Collect all required reporting content from partner groups within the organization. Consolidate this and prepare it to be published to internal and external partners
- Produce business analysis and insights to be shared with merchandising, LBL, and suppliers on sales performance, market share, and innovation
Process Improvement
- Support the team project on process automation to minimize manual interruption in the production of periodic reports and JBP & PC Club session decks
- Deliver recommendations on how to develop data driven insights that can be introduced as net new products
- Build new reports for the Commodity group and automate existing reports
Commodity Team Support
- Support the Commodity team managers on initial review of documentation of all proposed cost increases to Loblaw business
- Produce periodic reports for merchandising and Loblaw Brands leadership detailing cost inflation in the business and develop insights on the impact of this to the financial performance of Loblaws
- Build financial impact summaries of concluded cost increase instances to Vice Presidents
- Gain experience in Access and VBA helping input and lead inbound reporting for cost inflation
- Assist in the management of long term projects with the Sr. Director, Commodities & Joint Business Planning and the Managers, Commodities, including process redesign, automation and sourcing initiatives, and other cost savings measures
Requirements:
- Strong analytical skills and desire to work with large datasets
- Savvy Microsoft Excel skills including experience with building and editing macros
- Robust written and verbal communication skill
- Sensibility to handle workload and pivot to constantly evolving environment
