Reporting to the Manager, Customs & Trade, this role will be a part of our industry leading Customs Compliance & Trade Services team that navigates the ins and outs of product importation into Canada. Our primary objective is to comply with all Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) regulations to minimize costs and risk to the Company. This role will be responsible for supporting our company’s HS/HTS Code Database as well as support our dedicated Customs Broker to address any day-to-day business needs to ensure Customs clearance operations run smoothly. This role will provide the opportunity to combine your technical, auditing and people skills to support the enterprise on risk related matters with a focus on Customs Compliance. You will join a dedicated and motivated team with exposure to industries within the Loblaw enterprise including grocery retail, pharmaceutical, home & entertainment and apparel.

What you’ll do?

· Support day-to-day import & export compliance operations.

· Research product literature to determine proper HS/HTS Code with due regard to business risks.

· Ensure compliance with Participating Government Agent (PGA) data element requirements to enable compliant Single Window Initiative Integrated Import Decelerations (SWI IID).

· Analyze and interpret requirements for compliance as they relate to Canada Border Services (CBSA) and US Customs Border Protection (CBP) regulations.

· Work to avoid CBSA issuance of Administrative Monetary Penalties (AMPS).

· Support departmental audits that meet corporate and Internal Audit standards.

· Responsible for projects or initiatives as required.

What we are looking for?

· Post-Secondary education in a related discipline.

· Good interpersonal skills and ability to cultivate strong working relationships in a team environment is a must.
