Manager, Costing and DC Process and Controls

As a Manager, Costing and DC Process and Controls, you will work within a team environment and working with fellow colleagues you will be responsible for the balancing of inventory subledger to General ladger balances, the investigation and audit of product costs, working with business partners to review and resolve business process issues.

What you’ll do:

  • In this role you will work with a variety of business partners Distribution Centers, IT, Supply Chain, Data Operation and Merchant colleagues to define and resolve the business process and system issues that impact our Inventory Subledger and product costs.
  • Work closely with Supply Chain, DC OPS to address issues in SAP impact service level and the DC PNL.
  • Work alongside various IT support team to identify the root cause and resolve the error reported on the DC inbound inventory error log.
  • Develop strong cross-functional partnerships and relationships.
  • You will be responsible for balancing our Inventory subledger to our General Ledger.
  • Support DC Finance team complete critical period-end ask such as: The preparing and uploading of journal entries. The review of DC OP’s requests for financial adjustment and the processing of adjustment on timely basis.
  • Support the Director in working with internal and external auditors.
  • Participate in ad hoc and cross-functional projects and initiatives as appropriate.
  • Support Critical cross-functional tasks.
  • Process improvement and automation support.

What you bring:

  • Post-secondary education in finance or related field is required; experience working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail, ability to prioritize and make judgements, and sense of urgency will be important to the candidate’s success.
  • In-depth knowledge of Loblaw and SDM Warehouse System, Warehouse Operation Process flow and Supply Chain Process is a significant advantage to applicants. 
  • Minimum of 4-6 years of finance or accounting experience, with a detailed knowledge of accounting practices and supporting business processes including DC and Supply Chain operations.
  • Knowledge of SAP.
  • Knowledge of SAS enterprise guide would be an asset.
  • Interpersonal skills and a proven ability to influence business partners.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with other departments and build strong working relationships, combined with an approachable disposition.
